"Resistance": Season 2: Episode 9: "The Voxx Vortex 5000"written by Gavin Hignight, directed by Steward Lee
This was a fun episode for sure and not all together tangential as we know the Colossus needs to get credits somehow. But it didn't have the mystery or depth of the past 3 episodes which was a bummer. Regardless, it was an enjoyable watch and I look forward to where we go from here!!
The Aces are itching for something to do and the Colossus is running low on credits, so Hype hatches a plan to return to his old stomping grounds in the Voxx Cluster at Frankie's Hotel and Casino. Frankie turns out to be a super good natured Hutt who disdains being called any form of the word slime. Ha! Hype figures they'll enter a couple of races, win them hands down, and take home a chunk of change. But things aren't as easy as they seem. The war between the Resistance and the First Order has led to a drastic decline in clientele--apparently there used to be so many people that the gravity system was nearly compromised and now there's only one player. Frankie decides that if the Aces win they get their money...but if they don't...Hype has to go back to work for the Hutt! ...and...it just keeps getting worse from there.
It was exhilarating trying to figure out how the Aces were going to get out of a situation that was clearly rigged. And we got to see those giant Kowakian Monkey Lizards again! Frankie uses them as security (see below). An interesting comment made by the Hutt was that all the casino goers have fled to Canto Bight since the war broke out--pretty nifty canon connection there.
Other than that, there's not all that much to say except Neeku is wonderful and I love when an episode showcases his talents!!
