The Clone Wars: Season 7: Episode 7: "Dangerous Debt"
The Clone Wars: Season 7: Episode 7: "Dangerous Debt" written by Dave Filoni and Charles Murray, directed by Saul Ruiz and Bosco Ng
This episode felt like I was living a video game, shooting at the enemy while progressing through ever more difficult levels. I wonder if that was the intention?? I would so play this if it was a video game! In all, I enjoyed it very much, we learn more about Trace and Rafa, Ahsoka pulls some Jedi tricks while still remaining discrete, and Mandalorians show up on Oba Diah!!!
The moral at the beginning was, "Who you were does not have to define who you are." I think this moral applies to everybody involved: Ahsoka trying to get out from her Jedi past, Rafa potentially changing her criminal ways, and Trace becoming a badass when she's been all meek and mild before. And it's a listen we could all stand to learn as everyone has made mistakes in their lives that they regret.
Apparently, Trace and Rafa's parents were killed during the hunt for Ziro the Hutt after he escaped from prison!! The Jedi had lifted an out of control cargo ship with the Force, causing it to avoid a platform full of people but hit a wall...on the other side were Trace and Rafa's parents who perished helping Trace and Rafa escape. Afterward, some Jedi, sounds like Luminara??? said to the two children, "I had to make a choice, but not to worry, the Force will be with you." What platitudes!!!! Especially to two children whose parents had just been killed by her actions!!! Yikes...
Back to the story at hand, Rafa gets taken away for torturing to discover where the spice was. This whacko, creepy, bent-over droid with electro-parts does the torturing (see above). Then Trace gets taken away (see the prison below--it's eerily beautiful)...and...Damn! Trace is a badass!! I was not expecting this! I won't go into detail because you have to see this with your own eyes, but she's finally standing up for herself and holding her own!
Explosions on this show are always so flipping beautiful!! So many pretty colors (see below)!
So, three Mandalorians show up (see below), worrying that their "mission" will be hindered by the presence of Ahsoka on Oba Diah. What could their mission be?!? But then one of them says, "Don't forget, we have a common enemy." Taking that into account, and with a look at the guest stars, it seems that Katee Sackhoff made an appearance...which can only mean one thing...one of those Mandalorians was Bo-Katan!! And she holds no love for Maul!! Maul must be Ahsoka and their common enemy! That leads me to question...who were the other two at her side?? I thought this arc would end after this episode because the name of the next one, "Together Again," just didn't make any sense in context. But it appears that what we're going to get is a seamless transition from one arc to the next rather than a straight up stop and start...which I'm quite excited about! I love it when the story just continues...
So here's to the Siege of Mandalore!!!!!!! I can't wait to see what they've cooked up for us next...
