The Tiny Book of Sith by S. T. Bende

The Tiny Book of Sith by S. T. Bende

Oh my goodness!!! This book is as freaking precious as you can get!! And it's super comprehensive!! As you can see in the picture to the left, when the title says "tiny"...it means tiny!! Like this thing is nearly microscopic...and I love it. It even has a cardboard sleeve and a ribbon bookmark. It's a genuine book just extra small. It's a gorgeous book, too, containing all sorts of illustrations and screen caps. About 95% of the book is just quotes, BUT we're talking quotes from movies, TV shows, adult novels, junior readers, adult and children comic books, and video games!! Bende was certainly thorough when coming up with what to include here, and I am overjoyed by the canon connectivity--even the Sith Code makes an appearance in the opening pages! Strangely enough though, there were a couple of quotes from Legends books and some of the quotes were just odd choices, but most of the chosen quotes were perfect and every one being accompanied by a photo or illustration made for a wonderful reading experience!

So the book is separated into 5 sections: The Dark Side, Regimes, Dark Side Planets, Sith Artifacts and Weapons, and Sith Lords and Dark Side Knowledge. The last section is the longest by far and includes a plethora of characters from all across Star Wars canon!!

The book opens with "The Sith is an ancient, religious order driven by emotions, prone to infighting, and obsessed with gaining power through the dark side of the Force." I want more Sith backstory so much!! I LOVED the Legends books that delved into the era of the Sith Empire. I thought that time period was just absolutely fascinating.

In the "Regimes" section we get a sub-section called "Ancient Sith" with this bit of narrative: "A rogue Jedi sought to expand his knowledge through study of the dark side. The Sith Order was born from the ensuing civil war, and led powerful regimes thereafter." How cool!! When will Lucasfilm give us this story??? I want it so freaking badly!!

This is such a cool little book to own even if only for the novelty of it. But regardless of its size, the illustrations are on point and the vast majority of the quotes are stellar. I highly recommend this adorable addition to canon! Be on the lookout for my review Monday of its sister book--The Tiny Book of Jedi!!
