"Bounty Hunters #17: War of the Bounty Hunters: Last Stand" by Ethan Sacks

"Bounty Hunters #17: War of the Bounty Hunters: Last Stand" written by Ethan Sacks, illustrated by Paolo Villanelli and Arif Prianto with Jesus Aburtov & Edgar Delgado

This series continues to have my heart!! It is SO good and SO jam packed with plot, character, action, and intrigue that every single panel is a pure joy. I am so happy they created this comic series. It has been the perfect blend of carry-over and new characters as they are put in ever crazier situations. But also with long-term storylines that keep you eagerly buying the next issue. I of course love Aphra, but this at least comes in second for me if not ties with the rogue archaeologist's series!

Strange note about the title: on the cover it clearly states "Escape from the Executor" while on the title page and in the issue's description it clearly states "Last Stand"...

Valance is stuck on the Executor, having just been betrayed by Boba Fett (although admittedly, Valance knew it was coming...). He finds himself surrounded by stormtroopers and makes short work of them...even nearly dead the man is a powerhouse! See him in action below!

T'onga is also in the picture as she and her bizarre crew (see below) of Tasu Leech (who is crazy trigger happy), Zuckuss, her wife--Losha, a Nexu, and now Bossk (who is still missing both his legs) are desperately attempting to rescue Valance from the Empire's clutches. T'onga manages to get Valance's attention using an old smuggler's frequency they used back when the two worked for Nakano Lash. The cyborg and his old friend make contact, surprising Valance that T'onga is alive!! A welcome surprise, not even considering that she's there to save him.

Valance runs into a number of obstacles on his way to the hangar bay to meet up with T'onga and crew, only to decide once he gets there that it's too dangerous for T'onga's ship (the Edgehawk) to land in the stormtrooper laden bay. With his typical skillful bravado, Valance manages to hijack a jet pack from a jumptrooper and jets up to T'onga's waiting ship where he sees Zuckuss of all people with his hand outstretched to bring Valance into safety. This part was so freaking funny! See the panel below! It can't be that easy though, right?? Vader comes on the scene and rips Valance's metal arm, leaving Zuckuss holding only the appendage. What happens next?? At the very bottom of this review, I've left a MAJOR spoiler picture...

Meanwhile, on the Vermilion, Qi'ra is making a pact with Vukorah to help her in bringing all the crime syndicates together as a unified whole. Qi'ra apparently has something quite enticing to help convince the Unbroken Clan's renegade leader-hopeful to join her cause. I've no idea what it could possibly be and cannot wait to find out!

Everything about this issue was just so much fun...and then there's the last panel...check below for the spoiler:
