I am a Padawan by Ashley Eckstein

I am a Padawan written by Ashley Eckstein, illustrated by Shane Clester
This little golden book is adorned with super cute illustrations and is absolutely a fun read. Unfortunately though, much like I am a Wookiee focuses on pretty much only Chewbacca, I am a Padawan focuses on pretty much only Ahsoka. Of course it is written by the voice of Ahsoka herself! Ashley Eckstein, so go figure. And who can complain about getting to relive Ahsoka's adventures in the Jedi Order? Yes, the book ends with her trial and leaving the Jedi Order from Season 6 of "The Clone Wars." Of course it is about Padawans and she was only a Padawan up until she left. Regardless, it was a joy looking back through her life!
We see her being found by Plo Koon; fighting along side Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Rex (see below); being friends with Barriss; saving Padme from Aurra Sing; fighting Grievous (see below), Cad Bane, and Asajj; helping Saw on Onderon (see below); leading the younglings in creating their lightsabers on the Crucible; defending herself while on trial; and then walking away from the Jedi Order. This book really does cover a lot!!

In fact those younglings from the lightsaber creation arc show up several times, and you can even see them on the cover above. They include Byph (Ithorian), Ganodi (Rodian), Gungi (Wookiee), Petro (Human), and Zatt (Nautolan)--Katooni (Thalothian, was the only one who didn't make the cut, sad). I'm being super technical here but their inclusion in several locations throughout felt odd to me because they aren't even Padawans...they're younglings. The only other Padawan in the book was Anakin with his braid standing next to Obi-Wan under the words, "When younglings become Padawans, they are paired with a Jedi Knight, who will continue to teach them the ways of the Force." This book definitely had an opportunity to show a young Caleb Dume (Kanan Jarrus) with his master Depa Billaba, but no such luck.
If you're looking for an easy way to discover the story beats of Ahsoka's past, this is definitely an accessible and fun place to start. It even indirectly points out which episodes of "The Clone Wars" to go to to find out more, although it might take some Wookieepedia-ing and searching under various mentioned names and planets. But it's all there, just ready for the curious reader to begin exploring. For young children just getting into the Clone Wars, this is a great way to give them an overview of Ahsoka and her life as a Padawan! For any hardcore Ahsoka fans out there, this book is a must have.
As you can see from the images above, the illustrations are top-notch! And so I'll leave you with a typically over-smiling Kit Fisto which always makes me laugh:
