Star Wars Resistance - Episode 12 - "Bibo"
Star Wars Resistance - Episode 12 - "Bibo" written by Paul Giacoppo, directed by Bosco Ng
This was a really cute episode although the "twist" was super predictable and it felt like an offshoot from the main storyline. I can't wait to get some more meat again. But Neeku had some fabulous lines and a whole episode that focuses on him is worth it!
The intro music was the show's traditional fanfare which felt very appropriate for this lighthearted episode.
Synopsis: A small precious creature (this show really has a knack for cuteness) comes up aboard a salvaged Z-95 and Neeku immediately falls in love. He claims the creature as his beloved pet and names him Bibo. Then a giant monster comes to the Colossus and attacks!
A few of Neeku's best lines were:
-when first meeting the creature: "It is joy!! It is purest rapture!!"
-after showering the creature in kisses: "Oh it kisses back."
-after Kaz comments on the terrible smell the creature emits: "It is his natural musk, Kaz."
-and when Neeku is sure he has lost Bibo for good after he runs away: "His adorable trial of chaos and mayhem ends here!"
A Z-95 is the salvaged ship that Bibo comes up with and Kaz says it used to be a part of Reaper Squadron during the Clone Wars. I need to know more!!
The kids (Kel and Eila) from Episode 6 "The Children from Tehar" make a reappearance when Tam and Neeku journey down to Engineering to find Bibo. Eila may be Force sensitive as she has dreams of a big thing coming for Bibo. And her brother says that every time she dreams the same dream consistently that it comes true. Interesting...could mean more in regards to Kylo Ren attacking their village! I'm glad they carried this connective thread through and the kids are still on the platform. I'll be intrigued to see what becomes of their story.
All in all, this one was fun but I'm really looking forward to when it gets a tad more serious again. I wanna know more about the First Order and what Kaz's spying reveals! And I am super excited about whenever the cross-over with Force Awakens/Last Jedi occurs although I don't expect that to happen until the end of this season or in the middle of the second season since I figure IX has to come out before they get so close to post-IX events. But I'm still anxiously watching and enjoying the ride.
