Galaxy's Edge comic #4: "The Betrayal of Khashyun" by Ethan Sacks

Galaxy's Edge #4: "The Betrayal of Khashyun" written by Ethan Sacks, illustrated by Will Sliney and Dono Sanchez-Almara with Protobunker
I absolutely LOVED getting a taste of Dr. Aphra in another series. It was so much fun to watch her in action in the context of this Galaxy's Edge story! And the framing story was quite good as well--I'm loving our outlaw trio and Dok-Ondar is a fascinating character...plus Hondo is still around!!! The title "The Betrayal of Khashyun" speaks for itself what with Aphra being involved...
So we start off with some stormtroopers chasing down a couple of supposed Resistance fighters. But that whole section feels way disconnected from the rest of the story...until the head trooper (who flies in on a super cool ship pictured below) gets a call that three outlaws with a death price on their head courtesy of Hux himself are in Black Spire--of course this is Remex, Kendoh, and Wooro.
Then we see Hondo running up to Dok-Ondar, telling him that the same three outlaws are after the Sword of Khashyun. Dok-Ondar seems to have all in hand though...very interesting...he's a super crafty old Ithorian. The story within a story comes about as Hondo asks what the deal was with Aphra and Dok back when they first found the Sword of Khashyun.
The story within a story was such a good tale!! It was pure Dr. Aphra and we even got some BT-1 and 0-0-0!! See a pic of them with Dok-Ondar below--he was old 30 years ago!! There were daring escapes, phantom sentries, and Sith Hounds (see below) galore as Aphra attempts to steal the Sword of Khashyun from the Sith temple on the Sith homeworld of Moraband (see below). According to Dr. Aphra, the Sword of Khashyun was "forged by a sect of Dowutin Sith warriors." Check out the link for some pictures of this species--Grummgar from Maz's Castle is an example. Interesting side note: BT has...well, had...a probe droid in his dome!!
So tons of action and betrayal as Aphra works out how to acquire and then get the best deal out of the sword. Funny, along the way we discover that Dok is a force to be reckoned with...he may be scarier than anyone we've yet encountered in Star Wars!! You'll have to read to figure out why I say this.
I still hands down, 100% recommend this series. It is so much fun and chock full of characters we all know and love. A wonderful taste for those of us who won't be able to make it to the parks for some time. I can't wait to see how Ethan Sacks wraps this one up...and honestly, I would LOVE for more Galaxy's Edge comic tales to be told!
