"The Bad Batch Ep.9: Bounty Lost"

"The Bad Batch Ep.9: Bounty Lost" written by Matt Michnovetz, directed by Brad Rau and Nathaniel Villanueva

This episode again had so much good in it! Kaminoan shadiness, Cad Bane throwing down, mysteries being slowly uncovered, and more! I couldn't be happier with how this show has played out so far.

We start right where we left off last episode with the Bad Batch simultaneously escaping Bracca and a vengeful Crosshair as well as pursuing Cad Bane who had just kidnapped Omega. Crosshair is bandaged up after falling prey to his own trap in the previous episode (see above)...something that just makes him all the more ready to take down his brothers. Thankfully they get away and are able to begin the hunt for Omega!

Omega is of course being held prisoner on Cad Bane's ship with Todo-360 guarding her cell (see below). In fact, Todo-360 continues to play a prominent role in this episode and I am so here for it! His very human approach to being a droid reminds me of my favorite droid, C-3PO. I'm just now realizing this...no wonder I've always enjoyed this character so much--he's like a C-3PO but more frequently humorous and fairly brave. It's quite perfect.

Once we arrive on Bora Vio (home of an abandoned Kaminoan cloning facility--see below), Fennic Shand and Cad Bane duke it out over Omega. Turns out Fennic Shand has been hired by Nala Se to ensure Omega's survival...cuz Prime Minister Lama Su (the person who hired Cad Bane) wants to use the young clone and then kill her, something her once-caregiver on Kamino can't abide. As Omega escapes her captor she comes across a number of cloning tanks (at least one of them has a clone of a Kaminoan in it!!...I wonder what in the world they were doing cloning themselves?!?). We learn that the reason Omega is so important to the Kaminoans is that she has pure, first-generation DNA--she's just like Boba!! What their intentions are for this unaltered DNA, I have no idea and I can't wait to find out!!

So a great episode with some super surprising twists and turns. I am loving this ride!!
