Star Wars: Resistance - Episode 7 - "Signal from Sector Six"

Star Wars: Resistance - Episode 7 - "Signal from Sector Six" written by Brandon Auman, directed by Sergio Paez
This was a pretty good episode overall with some quite interesting turns throughout. And it's beginning to thread a connection through from previous episodes--for that I am most definitely thankful. There were also some quite funny moments that had me laughing out loud, keeping me engaged and enjoying.
Synopsis: Yeager takes Kaz to meet up with Poe so the two can talk about the mission and what Kaz has discovered up until this point. Poe brings an X-wing with him to let Kaz fly while they discuss. Then a distress signal rings out from Sector Six and the two pilots go off to investigate what turns out to be a pirate raid.
The ship Kaz and Yeager hop on to go out and meet Poe looks very similar to a ship used in an episode of Star Wars Rebels--a passenger shuttle--pretty cool connection from the episode featuring R2 and 3PO.
We meet CB-23, a rolling astromech who has essentially fallen in love with Poe but makes for a good droid for Kaz for the short time she works with him. She is a beautiful combination of red and teal and looks more like BB-9E shape-wise than BB-8 (see above complete with crazed Kowakian Monkey Lizard).
Poe is super happy to see BB-8 again which brings me to a huge question...how does this series line up with the Poe Dameron long-run comic series?? Because BB-8 is present during the entire run of the comic series and we know it goes right up until The Force Awakens and through The Last Jedi. Concurrently, we know that Resistance occurs 6 months before The Force Awakens which puts it directly in line with that long-run comic series...so how does this work??...
I LOVE how Poe and Kaz are attacked by Kowakian Monkey Lizards!! It's too funny how these guys are the parrots of Star Wars pirates. And they have absolutely overrun the abandoned ship Poe and Kaz find themselves on. We hear their crazed laughter in the shadows, and they enact all sorts of shenanigans, making Poe and Kaz's adventure all the weirder...until the biggest, strongest, most vicious Kowakian Monkey Lizard I've ever seen shows up and attacks (see above)!!
Finally, our two heroes find a survivor named Synara and bring her in to the Colossus to receive medical treatment. After getting an ID chip, she quickly runs off and we discover she is one of the pirates from "The Triple Dark" episode. I knew she looked familiar!! Now we get to see how these pirate connections will play themselves out in the storyline...super excited for these connecting threads!
