Star Wars: Resistance - Episode 20 - "No Escape, Part I"

Star Wars: Resistance - Episode 20 - "No Escape, Part I" written by Brandon Auman, directed by Steward Lee
Wow, so this episode was really good. I was so eager to check it out and was absolutely rewarded!! "Resistance" has definitely grown on me--what with Kaz taking control and seeing himself as a leader and rescuer without anyone else's help and the dubiousness of Tam's response to everything. Every character has their own moral pathway to follow and that is made abundantly clear in this episode. No one is cookie-cutter and everyone is their own unique person. It is simply put...beautiful.
We start off with citizens being told over the loudspeakers to go back to their rooms and stay there while the Colossus is submerged. Anyone not doing as told will be considered in violation of First Order law. We also get some visuals of some awesome looking aquatic life above. Then we have a super intense confrontation between Doza and Pyre where Doza has had enough!! He tells Pyre he's going to let the Republic in on what's happening at the station. But Pyre proclaims that the Colossus is far out of the clutches of the Republic and therefore they are doomed. He even foreshadows coming events by saying that the opposite is not true--the First Order is in reach of the Republic. *shivers* See Pyre with his matching golden blaster below!
Tam is still in talks with Tierny about the truth of Kaz and Yeager, and Tam is fuming at the fact Yeager didn't trust her with more information about what was really going on. Tierny goes so far as to ask her, "Do you think Yeager truly cares about you?" What a punch in the gut that must have been for poor Tam! I will not be surprised if she joins the First Order next episode, especially since Tierny offered her an opportunity to be a pilot for the group. I mean really...who can blame the girl?
Side note: The way Buggles moves with his ankles flipping up and down is so precious I just can't.
Kaz hatches a crazy plan (as per usual) to swim back up to the tower and unfortunately comes into contact with some First Order divers. As the divers chase the clumsy spy, the music turns to the show's main theme but in a deep, minor key--it's incredibly effective and super spine chilling. At the same time, Neeku is trying to pressurize the corridor that's flooded with water to save Kaz. It is hysterical how the Nikto presses every button possible with no clue what he's doing because NONE of them are labeled--making a gag out of something that is so typical Star Wars! Loving it!
The Colossus has a hyperdrive!!! I would not be surprised if this season ends with the Colossus shooting off into the stars. What an ending that would be!
I LOVE that Flix, Orka, Bitey, and their pit droid are all hiding away from the First Order in a box in the Acquisitions shop with the intention of being shipped off to Flix's mother's. They are too cute!! I want so much more of them.
Eventually we get to the end of the episode and I wouldn't consider this a spoiler because we all knew this was coming sooner or later. Hux's speech happens and it is hair-raisingly scary. My lip started trembling as soon as Hux started talking. After his speech, the lasers shoot out and we get to see the destruction of the Hosnian system...with Kaz, a Hosnian Prime native watching on...tears fell at that point...both times I watched it--literal tears rolling down my face. That scene was cut so well and made so much more powerful now that we deeply know someone who hailed from one of the destroyed planets.
     Trivia:
Flix is a Gozzo.
There are so many ways the story could go from here and I am absolutely on the edge of my seat in anticipation over what's going to happen next! So curious to see if Neeku figures out the hyperdrive situation in the next episode and we get to see the Colossus take off into space.
