Darth Vader comic #21: Fortress Vader, Part III by Charles Soule
"Darth Vader #21: Fortress Vader, Part III" written by Charles Soule, illustrated by Giuseppe Camuncoli, Daniele Orlandini, and David Curiel
Quite an interesting beginning to what looks to be an upcoming intriguing story...and yet we're already on issue 3 of this story arc...but I have to say I definitely enjoyed the build up to where we are now. Vader arrives on Mustafar and craziness goes down...did I expect any less? And yes, it has to do with the ancient Sith!! For that I am extremely grateful. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.
The opening to this one is super cute and then super creepy. Not sure how I feel about it...*shivers*. It could have been such a touching scene, but as Charles Soule is want to do, it was made to be slightly terrifying.
Colonel Alva Brenne is the Imperial architect Palpatine assigns to Vader to create whatever he needs on Mustafar. And what an indoctrination she gets into the desires of Vader! He can be so dark and twisted sometimes...well, I mean he usually is...but this takes the cake!
So apparently, the reason Vader wants to make his base of operations on Mustafar has nothing to do with his fight with Obi-Wan. Interesting. I'd almost forgotten about the reason he does bring up...super excited to see where this goes.
Never thought I'd read something like this--quite funny: "The lava flows to the southeast will make a stunning vista." Haha!
Trivia:
-Padme's ship is a J-Type 327 Nubian Royal Starship.
-Father Kkkt and Zzzs are two Mustafarians watching Vader's new ship fall from the sky.
-Lord Momin was an ancient Sith Lord who preferred creating to destroying.
The ending confused me (not sure why Vader did what he did) although the very last panel was stunning for its canon connections! I'm deeply interested in where this Lord Momin story is going. Can't wait to find out as the next issue's synopsis says the focus will be on him.
