Woah...I'm still reeling from how this one turned out. Definitely not what I expected. Soule did a fabulous job pulling the wool over our eyes and revealing to us a secret that I at least didn't see coming. Tarkin is cruel as ever and poor King Lee Char is in over his head. But it's Master Ferren Barr who's the real story here...
Barr's saying "Execute Order 66" works like a charm and the clones turn on the once-Jedi Inquisitors!!
Verla, the last standing acolyte to Barr, does have the Force after all. And Barr sends Verla off on her own to find a surviving Jedi to teach her. He mentions there have been no recordings of Obi-Wan's or Yoda's deaths and suggests even Quinlan Vos as a teacher. I really hope we get to see her somewhere in canon in the future! Barr then sets off to find Vader.
Ninth Sister and Sixth Brother survive the attack!! ...but then Sixth Brother does something truly evil...
Vader approaches the Royal Command Bunker protected by Mon Cala warriors who he of course makes short work of. And then he meets the maniacal Barr...
Admiral Raddus calls the Imperials Devilsquids...haha!
Zeran Town is the name of a settlement on the planet.
The last few pages are a headspinner...turns out Ferren Barr really is exceptionally crazy but has quite accurate Force visions of the future despite that. We get glimpses into the Mon Cala parts to play in the original and sequel trilogies which had me giddy thinking, "I know what he's talking about!!" I still feel sorry for King Lee Char though, poor guy.
The next issue is set to focus on Tarkin which is truly exciting. Can't wait to see where this series goes from here...
