Darth Vader comic #6: The Chosen One, Part VI by Charles Soule
"Darth Vader #6: The Chosen One, Part VI" written by Charles Soule, illustrated by Giuseppe Camuncoli, Cam Smith, and David Curiel
This was a pretty good issue although not much happened.
The coolest part was Vader rebuilding his ruined suit by sheer Force-will. He commands the tools to move and work simply with his mind...while in a bacta tank. His power is undeniable...and his abilities as a mechanic are too <3
Then Vader meets the Grand Inquisitor who you at first think comes pre-packaged the way he is...I at least did. He shows up with his spinning double bladed red lightsaber and attacks Vader. Apparently he desperately wants to inspect the Jedi archives. But it turns out he's been the Grand Inquisitor for at least some time, which struck me as odd. Vader's only been the man in the scary suit for a few weeks at most by this point. Basically, the Inquisitorius has been a long running project of Palpatine's. They just didn't know about Vader. And they are surprised to learn of his existence and the fact they now have a second master to obey and serve.
We see Seventh Sister and Fifth Brother which was cool - along with several other Inquisitors once Vader is introduced to their training grounds. The dark lord is then told he will be training them all. The next issue looks to explore this further.
One really weird thing I noticed was that Vader was using Infil'a's lightsaber hilt still. I'm wondering when he goes through the process of making his own saber. Very strange.
I would've liked some more meat to this issue, but overall it was a good lead-in to the next story arc. I am excited to see where it goes...
