Resistance Season 2: Episode 12 - "The Missing Agent"

Resistance Season 2: Episode 12 - "The Missing Agent" written by Brandon Auman, directed by Steward Lee
The super cool thing about this episode is that it is a Part 1 without being called such. I was watching it, cruising along and loving every minute then it just ended!...but kept on going with the next episode! A great format that has me utterly engrossed. I never realized before that most of the episodes were fairly standalone until this one. It wasn't even a cliffhanger so much as the story simply continued right where it left off. Now I'm kind of hoping for more of this because dang does it leave me enrapt.
One of my best friends had let me in on the fact Daveed Diggs was going to be playing a Duros named Norath Kev in an upcoming episode...he's a huge theatre buff. And I was super excited to see what the Hamilton star could do...he was fantastic btw. I am already in love with Norath (see image below)--kind heart, easy going, willing to do what needs to be done and has fun while doing it...just what a great character. I really hope he's going to be sticking around the Colossus for awhile!
We start off in the middle of the action with above mentioned Duros running for his life from a super scary looking Iktotchi bounty hunter named Ax Tagrin (see image below) on the streets of Vargo Spaceport (see image above) on the planet Varkana. Unfortunately, by sending a distress signal to a Resistance frequency, Norath makes it all too easy for Ax to set up a trap...
Then we're back on the Colossus as Kaz notices the distress signal on the Resistance frequency and tells Captain Doza he wants to check it out. CB-23 and Yeager readily volunteer for the mission but Doza warns them that they could be putting the Colossus at great risk. And Synara joins the team in case things go south and they need some muscle (go girl!). I'm a little perplexed at Yeager's eagerness to join a mission that could potentially be a trap--he claims they have a duty to help anyone in the Resistance they can, but I'm wondering if he also wants to get out and do something...hmmm...
Anyway, the trap is sprung and all heck breaks loose as our four heroes face off against the bounty hunter (who has already called in to the First Order about his fresh catch). Will the First Order get their prize or will they make it back to the ready-to-jump-into-hyperspace-at-any-minute Colossus before it's too late??
Again, I found this episode crazy funny and the best part was actually CB-23!! She does this ridiculous intimidation thing to a Gran (named Lechee) who's in with the bounty hunter. She slowly rolls toward him, extends a pincher manipulator arm,...and then??...scrapes it along the wall (see image below), making a horrible screeching sound!! I definitely rewound and watched this moment a few times. It was fantastic! Lechee was visibly distressed, but after several seconds of scraping, he asked if they were seriously going to continue this game...and CB just kept scraping. haha!
At one point, Kaz, Yeager, and Norath need to bring down a ship...I'm not going to give away why nor what the situation is, but Yeager says, "If there's one thing Kaz can do, it's bring down this ship...or any ship for that matter." Kaz's response? "Thanks...I think." Another wonderfully funny moment.
This show certainly has charm coming out of its ears and I can't wait to see what's in store for us next!!
