Resistance Season 2: Episode 15 - "The New World"

"Resistance" Season 2: Episode 15 - "The New World" written by Jennifer Corbett, directed by Steward Lee
A very interesting episode that took a turn I was not expecting at all. This whole time I thought the Colossus was trying to locate the Resistance and join up their forces, but it turns out Doza's plan all along was to find a new home for his people, far from the prying eyes of the First Order. His wish was to allow the Colossus to continue living their lives peacefully and not necessarily to continue the fight. Kaz, for one, is not convinced that parking is the best idea. He wants to continue the battle against tyranny in the galaxy.
The ringed water world that Captain Doza takes the Colossus to is called Aeos (spelling?--see image from space above). This planet is beautiful with all sorts of crazy rock forms and crystal clear blue sky/water (see image from in atmosphere below). And apparently there's nothing on the planet of interest to the First Order so it won't be on their scanners. But is it to good to be true??
Doza sends out the aces in pairs to scout out the planet and make sure it's safe. Griff is paired with Kaz and they...well...it's Kaz so who woulda thunk it...land in some trouble. The local sentient species has dealt with the destruction the First Order brings in the recent past and they are absolutely not ready to welcome in anyone new. To make matters worse, Griff's Imperial pilot's helmet doesn't allow Kaz and him to look like the good guys.
I felt like there was something missing from this episode and I figured out that it was a lack of humor. The past several have been crazy funny and this one really didn't have much in the way of funny moments. One great line from Griff though, in response to Kaz trying to hatch a plan of escape, was: "Well, I've never been captured by fish before. So I'm up for whatever." That was about the extent of the humor.
We do get a continuation of screen time for the battle droids which was awesome!! Now under control of the B1 as their commander, they've been repurposed to protect the Colossus at all costs. And they certainly try their darnedest but these fish people are a force to be reckoned with! Check out Aeos' inhabitants in full-on battle garb below.
Will the fish people allow the Colossus to stay?? Will they ever believe Kaz's pleas that his people just want to help and mean no harm?? Will Kaz and Griff be fed to the Krakavorra (sp?)??
Luckily, the next episode continues right along with this storyline which means there's actually a second released episode to catch up on today!! I'm super excited to see where all this goes...
