The Last Jedi comic #6 by Gary Whitta

"The Last Jedi #6" written by Gary Whitta, illustrated by Michael Walsh, Josh Hixson, and Mike Spicer
A fine issue to wrap up this fabulous comic adaptation of The Last Jedi. I do wish there had been a bit more thought bubbles coming from Luke (issues #1 and #2 did a fantastic job of this) and I would've loved to see some thought bubbles from Kylo Ren before, during, and after his fight with Luke. But the illustrations are beautiful and the layout of the panels truly brought me into the depth of the story.
Interesting...I just now realized that when Poe tells all the ski-speeders to pull off because the odds are stacked too high against them this goes completely against his character earlier in the movie when he ignored orders to fall back in the attack against the dreadnought...has he grown?? I wonder if his various encounters with Leia throughout the film finally helped him realize the error in his ways.
Read Rose Tico: Resistance Fighter (review coming soon) to see just how powerful her statement of "That's how we're gonna win. Not fighting what we hate. But by saving what we love." really is. It takes her a LONG time to come to this epiphany after her sister Paige dies. It's a conversation with Holdo in fact that leads her to rethink her incessant rage against the First Order for both what they did to her homeworld of Hays Minor and what they did to her sister. Her character development is monumental.
As Luke fades from this plane of existence, he says he will be stepping into a larger world. I can't wait for the ramifications of this during Episode IX! And I've said it before and will say it again...I really hope Anakin is right there with him schooling Kylo Ren on where he went wrong.
In the very end of this issue, we see the fathier stable boys re-enacting Luke fighting against the First Order. I've always wondered how they knew about this event happening. I'm left thinking perhaps several years had gone by between the Millennium Falcon flying away from Crait and the scene back on Cantonica...hmmm...perhaps we'll find out December of next year.
If you want to know where the story goes from here, check out the Poe Dameron comic series' The Awakening story arc!! It gives us tidbits of what's happening on the Millennium Falcon post-Crait and tells us what Black Squadron's up to during The Last Jedi. Definitely a go-to if you finish reading this comic series and want more!
Lastly, I'll leave you with this amazing panel:
