Star Wars comic #72: Rebels and Rogues, Part V: Leia in Love?! by Greg Pak

I actually really enjoyed this issue. There were several very poignant and beautiful moments although all were also quite sad. Things are honestly not looking all that great for any of the three pairs as trouble just keeps piling on! Just like previous weeks' titles, and honestly I'm not even sure if it really is a title or if it's just a tagline, this one--"Leia in Love?!" is way off the mark. She's just doing whatever she can to try and get Dar Champion to help her and Han out with a plan that will distract the Empire. Although, Han certainly thinks Leia is feeling some feelings...poor guy!
-C-3PO and Chewie:
Oh my goodness!! 3PO and Vader have an actual conversation with each other!! With Vader seemingly assuming that 3PO is owned by the rock beings since he calls them "your people." But then later, after some stormtroopers find Chewbacca, he assumes that the whole reason Chewie and 3PO were there was to trap him--a plan put in place by "Skywalker." So I'm not really sure he knows what is going on or even what he thinks is going on. I think he's just really confused...
There's a great line from 3PO after Vader asks him about whether the rock beings have emotions. Vader points out they are more like droids than flesh and blood beings and 3PO then says, "Begging your pardon, sir...but I've known many droids to be very emotional." Haha!! I love this.
There are several panels where Chewie, while working on the explosives, is given the sad face by a tiny rock being and he is so cute!! See below.
-Luke and Warba:
Poor Luke is so freaking naive!! Warba makes it very clear that she was just using him to get the money from the Imperial payroll and isn't trying to teach him a lesson of any kind. But he just won't listen and keeps asking if she's testing him. When did Luke become such an absolute dolt??
We learn a little bit more about Warba in that she's from Jedha and lived four blocks from the Temple of the Kyber. While growing up, she would listen to the Guardians of the Whills and watch miracles be performed. She describes the the energy of the Force in a way that is so reminiscent of Luke's description in The Last Jedi...perhaps some of what she says stuck with him. Warba begins to sound almost sincere in the telling of her story, but then...well...think Dr. Aphra on this one.
-Leia and Han:
In the midst of dancing with each other, Leia and Han switch it up with Dar Champion and his partner. Han is none too happy to see Leia dancing with another man, especially one she has a past with. See the look on his face below! We also get a little more insight into Dar's big plan to get Boss Carpo off planet. Unfortunately, Han may have run into some trouble...
I'm so looking forward to see how things are going to go from here!!
