Journey to The Last Jedi: Captain Phasma comic #2

"Captain Phasma 2" written by Kelly Thompson, illustrated by Marco Checchetto and Andres Mossa
So the opening crawl for this issue explained the confusion over the last one. Lieutenant Sol Rivas did not let the shields down before Phasma, he accessed the files that revealed she let the shields down before she accessed the same files and deleted them. So in other words, he knows about her "transgression" and she is now hunting him down to wipe out all witnesses. Much more sense, this makes. She does tell the TIE pilot she's flying with that Rivas is a traitor, but that's just to keep the pilot vigilant (the pilot is a woman!) and to hide the truth.
When they land on a planet called Luprora, Phasma makes a reference to Parnassos!!! "Reminds me too much of [a planet] I used to know." I LOVE how Star Wars canon references itself nowadays - so freaking cool. And Luprora does in fact remind me of Parnassos in many ways - the rocks, the sea monsters, the fact that the "natives" left a world ruined by technology. Makes me happy I read Phasma to fully understand the ramifications of the reference. So that's a plus.
The illustrations are still intense and deftly drawn and colored. But in places, they are so cluttered that it's difficult to make out what's happening. You have to look really close to parse out the movements.
BB-9E, or at least I'm assuming it's him, is along for the ride with Phasma and TN-3465. He seems a little clumsy lol. I like him already.
This comic mainly served to set up for the next issue as not all that much happened except for them landing on a planet and almost getting eaten by a sea monster. We do hear the history of the "natives" which was interesting and are left with a cliff-hanger about some other possible sentient beings that have taken Rivas into custody - along with a quite frightening image of a prison island?
I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.
