Journey to the Last Jedi: A Leader Named Leia by Jennifer Heddle (Young Reader)

A Leader Named Leia by Jennifer Heddle (World of Reading Level 2)
This book took a stroll down memory lane through all the highlights of Leia's life with a focus on only the movies. If your child needs a refresher course on Star Wars or wants to be able to read the whole Star Wars original and new trilogy story in one sitting then this is the book for them. If they want something with a little more meat to it, I would hold off on purchasing this particular book.
One cool feature is the collection of stickers at the back!!! Who doesn't like stickers?? There's definitely an emphasis on the new trilogy in the stickers, which if that's your thing, then cool. I would've preferred more original trilogy options.
There was one line that I loved - "Luke and Han tried to rescue Leia. But Leia had to rescue Luke and Han instead!" Definitely resonates with me and shows how much of a kick-butt woman she was - just like her mama :-)
As this is a Journey to The Last Jedi book, we do get some information on the upcoming movie. The biggest reveal is of a new woman Resistance (I'm assuming) admiral - Admiral Holdo - who is wearing burgundy-brown robes with ornate metallic wrist cuffs and has pink coiffed hair. I'm intrigued to see how her character plays out as she appears very high class and not rugged as you would expect of a Resistance officer. One more thing mentioned is that "Leia needed to keep the Resistance safe while she waited for Luke and Rey" implying that Rey's journey to Ahch-To takes awhile and things are happening with Leia and the Resistance while Rey is training to be a Jedi. Intriguing to say the least...
Overall, it was a fun jaunt, but I would've liked more. Luckily the input on Last Jedi made up for the book's lack of imagination.
