Star Wars comic Annual #3 by Jason Latour

"Star Wars Annual #3" written by Jason Latour, illustrated by Michael Walsh
The annual issues before this one have focused on all-new characters. Annual #1 even brought back its main character as an integral part of the Rebel Jail story arc. This annual focused mainly on Han and Leia thus leaving us without any surprise connections to future issues. I was left feeling like it was another completely separate story in a long string of completely separate stories. As a person who enjoys seeing the way things connect and intertwine, I'm getting antsy for this series to get back to the main storyline.
This issue opens up with a typical fight between Leia and Han as they scout out the planet Odona as a possible new Rebel base - the dialogue perfectly matched to the arguments we are so familiar with. The story then takes an unexpected...or maybe all too expected...turn when an alien named Frax shows up to enact revenge on Solo. Once again Han's put himself in a precarious situation because of going back on a deal. Leia is not surprised and ends up having to save his skin...for the millionth time.
While a fun issue in its own right, they could've done so much more with this. Luckily Scar Squadron returns in the next issue and it looks like that main storyline will finally get picked back up!
